Sun shine on my mind..

Oh boy, I know I probably sound like a broken record but summer will always bring me such joy.   These days, it shares a lot with Fall and of course the Christmas season but the bright nights and sunshine-y days just make my heart sing. Being a June girl probably has a lot to with my love for the long and bare feet kinda days.
This marks our second summer season living with family and to be honest, it's the easiest time of all. The boys are in their element being outside all day everyday and everyone just soaks in the goodness those sun rays bring. It's easy to get discouraged or frustrated when you're cooped up but there is such freedom in being able to breathe in fresh air!
As much as we can we try and get the boys out and about, adventuring and having quality family time just the four of us. It doesn't always have to be extravagant just special drives and meaningful conversations. One of our favorite things was cherry picking at the orchard, basically free other than the many pounds of fresh fruit we got!

Check out some more snap shots of what keeps us busy! Grilling and BBQ's are a must!

We got a killer deal on the boys' "clubhouse" from Costco, not bad curb appeal!!

Another favorite thing to do as a family is finding a hotel home for the night and getting those fins wet and just plain enjoying a staycation to the fullest. It's seriously so refreshing and we all instantly are recharged!!!! We like to get one downtown, in walking distance to plenty of fun things to do! Even if it's only to window shop or sight see. :)

A trip to good ol' PDX and the children's museum did not disappoint!

We always fit in our county fair as well. It's truly the saddest, most pitiful fair these days without any rides, lol. However, we go..partake in our share of fair food and get to see the animals! It's all in what you make of it!

A snippet of life for us in Summer!!
What are your favorite things to do indivually or as a family?! Would love to hear!
