Cabin Life

Just like every other year, last month is one of our family's busiest no doubt. We have talked about it many times but boy are we thankful we have so many opportunities to hop in our car and make memories, just the four of us! And with doggie sometimes. :) The one trip that is a must and everyone looks forward to, is our annual hunting adventure. Always mid September, always our happy place. Last year was too short for our liking so this year we were lucky to be able to spend four whole nights there and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! This is the one time, we really are forced to go without technology and truly it's not tough on any of us one bit. We scouted for deer together, tracked together and helped harvest this year's venison together. It is by far one of our favorite seasons because our relationship as a family gets a whole lot stronger! My heart soars watching my sweet husband and our boys share this huge love of the outdoors and love of the very area, Lucas grew up hunting. Both the littles immediately are home in the great open spaces. They only have a few of the same toys to play with and they are so content with just those. Old archery arrows are the greatest swords and you better believe they know how to handle them! Pockets full of rocks and dirt, roaming old homesteads, playing Old Maid at night with dim propane lighting. Seriously, the best! All four of crammed on one four wheeler enjoying the dust and wind in our hair, we couldn't love it more. We are always sad to say "bye, cabin"..but look forward to next time! Nothing better than being grubby and happy together!

All the best,
-R
